Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Director to lead our Groundwater Resources team in Victoria. As a key member of our Geotechnical Engineering and Geosciences Group, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to our clients and team members.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the delivery of projects related to hydrogeological investigations and assessments, including technical direction and project management.
  2. Provide expert advice to clients on groundwater resource management, policy, planning, and protection at both state and commonwealth levels.
  3. Design and direct desktop and field-based investigations, including groundwater resource exploration, dewatering, and environmental programs.
  4. Support civil infrastructure design and reviews for major infrastructure projects.
  5. Manage and direct the delivery of data analytics and technical reporting.
  6. Contribute to business development strategy, including input to the business planning process and identifying emerging market opportunities.
  7. Develop and maintain strong client relationships through industry knowledge and experience.
  8. Prepare, develop, and review proposals and bids for projects.
  9. Mentor, capacity build, and share knowledge across the Groundwater Resources team.
Requirements
  1. Relevant tertiary qualifications and significant experience in Hydrogeology, preferably in a consulting environment.
  2. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  3. A positive, collaborative, and forward-thinking mindset, focused on knowledge sharing and capacity building.
  4. Technical skills in groundwater resource investigations, hydrogeological conceptualization, groundwater impact assessments, and resource evaluation.
  5. Familiarity and experience with Victoria's groundwater framework, regulations, and policy would be ideal.
  6. Technical skills in geochemistry.
  7. Familiarity with spatial data analysis techniques and analytical modeling techniques.
  8. An ability to characterize a groundwater setting conceptually and identify risks and data gaps as they relate to specific developments.
  9. An understanding of or experience in numerical model development, including data collation, processing, and interpretation, realistic conceptualization, model construction, calibration, and operation.
  10. Experience in supporting key aspects of project management and administration.
  11. Demonstrated proficiency in report writing.
