Cloud Security Incident Response Analyst Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of cloud security incident response engagements involving AWS and Azure data.
  • Collaborate with the Cyber Defence Operations team to improve cloud cyber control hygiene, assist with incident response processes, and provide technical expertise on cloud security controls.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for cloud security, drawing on experience in areas such as incident response in AWS or Azure environments, cloud security control effectiveness, host analysis, network forensics, malware analysis, threat intelligence, and system administration.
  • Utilize cybersecurity tools to gather information and perform investigations within the Group's public cloud environment.
  • Identify best practices for monitoring, incident response, and managing cyber control hygiene in the cloud.
  • Document methods for detecting, preventing, and isolating suspicious activity in the cloud.
  • Support the CDO team with incident response and remediation activities related to cloud workloads.
  • Review security controls in affected cloud environments to identify gaps and contribute to post-incident reporting.
  • Partner with the Cloud Enablement and Engineering team to review and uplift the security posture in the public cloud environment.
  • Research and evaluate emerging security technologies and trends, recommending implementations to enhance our security posture.
  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities, providing tactical and strategic recommendations to mitigate risks.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of cloud security best practices, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in cloud security incident response, with a focus on AWS and Azure environments.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security controls, threat intelligence, and cybersecurity tools.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Experience with cloud-based incident response, vulnerability management, and penetration testing.
