About the Role

The ideal candidate will work closely with the kitchen staff to prepare high-quality meals. They will practice and teach techniques such as portion control, quality control, waste control and product preparation.

Main Responsibilities
  • Deliver consistently high-quality food across all menus, functions, and outlets.
  • Prepare and garnish a variety of dishes including sauces, soups, hot meals, salads, sandwiches, desserts, and specialty items.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant kitchen environment in line with WH&S standards.
  • Manage food requisitions and stock levels in accordance with hotel policies and operational needs.
  • Protect and maintain kitchen equipment, complete tasks efficiently, and attend scheduled meetings.
  • Work collaboratively with chefs and service teams, providing excellent guest service and supporting the Executive Chef/Sous Chef as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or hotel environment with strong food product and recipe knowledge.
  • Ability to consistently deliver high-quality dishes with excellent attention to detail and presentation.
  • Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, portion control, and WH&S guidelines.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Team player with good communication skills and a commitment to maintaining positive workplace relationships.
  • Professional grooming, flexibility, and the ability to follow hotel policies and operational procedures.

The base salary range for this position is estimated between $55,000 AUD and $65,000 AUD per year based on Perth's job market data.
