Teacher Librarian

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Teacher Librarian to join our team at La Salle Academy, Lithgow. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing academic and information services to students, staff, and the wider community.

• Develop and implement quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods, assess and report student progress.
• Use inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.
• Analyse student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
• Collaborate with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life.
• Provide student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.

• Proven ability to effectively teach at least one other subject curriculum.
• Experience in developing quality physical and online information services in the management of a school library collection.
• Extensive Information Communication Skills (ICT) and knowledge of Web 2.0 tools.
• Extensive knowledge of children's literacy with a contemporary literature repertoire and knowledge of how to promote and foster reading and writing.
• Global view of information and computing skills in the context of curriculum aims and learning.
• Able to function effectively as a member of a professional learning community and enthusiastically make contributions to the team.
• Have knowledge, understanding and design practices based upon the ALIA AITSL Teacher Librarian Practice Guidelines.
• Committed to Model of Christ Christ-centred learning and CEDB Professional Learning Community culture.
