We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to design and implement cutting-edge data solutions using big data technologies, particularly within a Spark environment.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale data systems, ensuring they meet Risk, Regulatory, and Compliance requirements.

You will work closely with fellow engineers and business analysts to deliver high-quality data solutions that support our Financial Markets objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expert level core Python development skills including hands-on coding with production-grade systems
  • Strong understanding of PySpark/ Spark technologies, distributed computing concepts and Spark performance tuning
  • Strong understanding of cloud big data implementations/tools such as AWS EMR, Databricks, or equivalent
  • Well-versed in Data Structures, complexity theory and CS fundamentals
  • Strong analytical and communication skills - capable of translating business requirements into performant data solutions
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD practices, modular code structuring, and automated testing for pipelines
  • Experience in financial domain development as a data engineer
