The successful candidate will play a crucial role in imparting theoretical and practical knowledge to students, fostering a deep understanding of the underlying concepts in these courses.
Key Responsibilities:- Course Instruction: Design and deliver lectures, tutorials, and hands-on sessions to guide students through the intricacies of course material, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of mathematical concepts and their applications.
- Curriculum Development: Develop and update course materials, ensuring alignment with the latest advancements in mathematics and systems engineering, and incorporating real-world examples to enhance student engagement.
- Evaluation and Assessment: Design assessments, quizzes, and projects to evaluate students' understanding and proficiency in applying mathematical methods and techniques, providing constructive feedback to promote student growth.
- Student Engagement: Foster a positive and interactive learning environment, encouraging student participation and engagement in discussions and practical hours, and providing individualized support to students as needed.
- Provide Regular Office Hours: Offer student consultations, addressing questions and concerns related to course content, and providing guidance on academic and professional development.
- Educational Background: A degree in mathematics, probability, or statistics, with a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and their applications.
- Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching courses in single/multivariable calculus, and/or probability and statistics is highly desirable, with a proven track record of effective teaching and student engagement.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey complex mathematical concepts and ideas, and to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
