About Our Occupational Therapy Role

As an Occupational Therapist, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy services to clients within our residential care facilities.

  • You will assess the therapeutic needs of residents and develop person-centered interventions to aid them in maintaining or improving their functional performance.
  • You will also deliver and evaluate these therapeutic interventions to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

This is a permanent part-time position working 2 days a week, with 47.4 hours per fortnight.

Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments that identify the client's functional capacity, strengths, and lifestyle goals.
  • Provide recommendations for client care and report writing.
  • Enhance the quality of life and independence of our clients by delivering evidence-based occupational therapy interventions.
  • Contribute to the development of holistic, individualized, client-focused care plans in partnership with the resident and their carer/advocate and our team.
  • Develop and monitor therapeutic activity programs in assigned residential care sites, ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
  • Provide individualized therapy services, including equipment prescription, to enable older people to maintain functional capacity, prevent deterioration, maximize quality of life, and re-engage with community activities.
  • Complete pain management interventions in accordance with relevant requirements.
  • Regularly review and evaluate client therapy plans to ensure identified goals are achieved and quality of life and healthy aging promoted.
  • Maintain current knowledge of contemporary occupational therapy techniques and healthcare issues, and ensure all clinical practice is in accordance with relevant legislative requirements, professional codes, and available evidence.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in accordance with our Clinical Governance Framework, organizational policies, and confidentiality agreements.
Your Requirements:
  • Experience in program development and delivery of evidence-based occupational therapy interventions within aged care or similar sectors.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to work autonomously in complex environments.
  • Evidence of COVID-19 and current flu vaccinations as per our policies.
  • Able to obtain a national police clearance (within 6 months' validity).
  • NDIS clearance (or ability to obtain).
  • Successful completion of pre-employment physical and reference checks.
  • Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) degree.
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA).
