About this role:

As a skilled Project Manager, you will play a pivotal part in the Public Sector People team by coordinating and forward planning city assets and projects. Reporting directly to the Infrastructure Manager, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Project and Program Management team to schedule and monitor city asset timelines, expenditure, and resource demand.

You will be accountable for assembling and monitoring a comprehensive MS Project Chart for council assets and projects. The scope of programs will include but not limited to;

  • Parks and recreation
  • Civil – Roads, Footpaths, Drainage, etc
  • Road Rehab
  • Grant funded Programs
  • Contribution Funder Programs
  • Capital Programs
  • Recurrent Programs

Key Responsibilities:

  • A successful candidate must possess extensive project scheduling experience and have expertise in city assets and civil infrastructure.
  • Manage project schedules including critical paths, milestones, baselines, forecasts, estimates/actuals data, and dependencies, presenting such data and status to a range of audiences, Project Control Groups, and Project staff on a weekly basis.
  • Collaborate with Project teams, SMEs, and consultants to document work breakdown structures, resource requirements, and interdependencies.
  • Manage project risks and issues data and registers with project team members.
  • Monitor project costs against budget and report identified budget creep in status reporting.
  • Ensure project documentation and activities are maintained in line with the project schedule and Document management requirements.

Key Skill: Essential Qualifications:

  • Degree qualifications in a relevant discipline such as project management, engineering, business administration, or equivalent knowledge/experience.
  • The ability to utilize MS Projects is crucial for this role.
