As the Analytics & Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer you will play a pivotal role in modernising our organisation's data structures, migrating them to the Azure Data Lake, and guiding the evolution of the corporate data platform.
Key responsibilities include:
Modernising and migrating on-prem data structures to the Azure Data Lake to streamline data storage and access Assessing existing report portfolios and providing strategic recommendations for future reporting, with a strong emphasis on Power BI Leading the development of our corporate data platform, driving insights and analytics with a focus on automation, scalability, and self-service capabilities Gathering user requirements, and designing, building, and testing robust dashboards, cubes/data structures, and reports in Power BI, integrating data from both on-prem and cloud sources (e.g., data extracts, relational databases) Managing stakeholder expectations, responding to reporting requests, and making enhancements that optimise reporting processes Collaborating with business units and business analysts to define requirements and build new reports/dashboards, ensuring they meet the needs of all departments This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for data analytics and business intelligence, looking to make a significant impact by building innovative, future-proof solutions that drive efficiency, insights, and data accessibility across the organisation.
About You
You will harness your expertise in Power BI and your strong passion for advanced analytics modelling to drive innovation and impactful results With an innovative and customer-focused mindset, you'll thrive within a united and savvy team dedicated to achieving collective success To be successful, you will have including but not limited to:
- 5+ years of experience in data systems, reporting, and analytics.
- Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field; a Master's is a plus.
- Proven BI Developer experience, focusing on data warehousing, data visualisation, and business intelligence.
- Strong experience migrating on-premises data structures to Azure Data Lake and proficiency in ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory).
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with relational databases (MS SQL Server), along with experience in database modelling, tuning, and multi-dimensional data modelling.
- Experience with Power BI, including Paginated Reports, DAX Studio, and familiarity with data governance and data democratisation.
- Exposure to Azure cloud technologies, including Azure Synapse, Data Lake Storage, and Databricks, as well as security frameworks such as ISO27001.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and GIT for clean code deployment is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams, plus a solid understanding of analytics and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
- Ability to design, implement, and validate Azure Data Lake environments and data migration strategies.
