About the Role

The Tasmania Government is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Alcohol and Drug Counsellor - Graduate. This is a fixed-term, full-time role working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 2 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality alcohol and other drug treatment services to clients in accordance with relevant Government Legislation and Regulations, Primary Health Care Principles, and professional competencies.
  • Work collaboratively with a dynamic multi-disciplinary team to deliver a comprehensive treatment program.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and other stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to alcohol and other drug treatment services.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work approved by the relevant professional bodies.
  • Current Working with Children Registration.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
