About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mining Engineer to join our Support and Life of Asset Planning Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing engineering leadership and expertise in long-term mine planning, operational constraints, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support our operating assets to safely deliver to plan and schedule
  • Provide engineering leadership to build capability and achieve operational efficiencies
  • Provide expert integrated risk and assurance support in key technical areas
  • Provide expert advice to merger, acquisition, and project development activities
Requirements
  • Extensive mining engineering experience across the various aspects related to large scale base metal open pit mining operations
  • Experience and expertise in long-term mine planning, operational constraints, and operational efficiency
  • Strong working knowledge of continuous improvement processes and methods
  • Advanced mine planning knowledge and software skills
  • Skills in problem-solving and constructive thinking in relation to mining operations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide detailed advice on planning and operational issues
  • Ability to work with engineering teams to plan future open pit to underground transitions
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (Mining Engineering)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language
  • Experience with base metals mining operations in the South American region
