Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our Seasonal Fire Crew in North Queensland and Central Queensland. This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out fire preparation, mitigation works, and hazard reduction works. They will also operate and maintain firefighting tools, machinery, and vehicles. In addition, they may be deployed locally or across the state depending on operational needs.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out fire preparation, mitigation works, and hazard reduction works
  • Operate and maintain firefighting tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Supporting fire response operations, including frontline firefighting duties when required
  • Performing vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drains
  • Assisting with inspections and reporting on fire readiness activities
  • Ensuring safety standards are followed for yourself, your crew, and the community
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work safely, follow directions, and complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in hot, remote, and rugged conditions
  • Current manual Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Prior firefighting, rural fire brigade, vegetation, or land management experience (desirable)
  • Tickets for chainsaw, chemical application, or 4WD operations (desirable)
