Position Overview
We are currently seeking dedicated and adaptable Emergency Service Officers to enhance our Emergency Management Department. This role is essential for our operations in the Central and Southern Queensland regions. Ideal candidates will have a background in the coal mining industry and experience in emergency response services, particularly with a strong operational background in Fire & Rescue Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency situations and provide effective management during incidents.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed.
- Maintain high levels of communication and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
Qualifications Required
To qualify for this position, candidates must possess the following:
- Standard 11 Induction
- Open Manual MR Licence or higher
- Current CPR & First Aid certifications
- HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing
- UETDRMP007 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panel
- National Police Certificate (issued within the last 12 months)
Essential Training
Applicants must have completed a Certificate 3 in Emergency Response & Rescue, including:
- PUAFIR207 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Open Circuit
- PUAFIR316 – Identify, Detect and Monitor Hazardous Materials at an Incident
- PUAFIR324 – Render Hazardous Materials Incidents Safe
- PUASAR022 – Participate in a Rescue Operation
- PUASAR024 – Undertake Road Crash Rescue
- PUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space Rescue
- PUASAR032 – Undertake Vertical Rescue
- PUAEQU001 – Prepare, Maintain and Test Response Equipment or PMAWHS211 – Prepare Equipment for Emergency Response
Desirable Qualifications
While not mandatory, the following qualifications are beneficial:
- Coal Board Medical (Rescue)
- Construction Industry White Card
- PUAEME008 – Provide Pain Management
- RIIVEH201 – Operate Light Vehicle or RIIVEH305 – Operate & Maintain 4WD
- Certificate 4 in Training & Assessment
- Workplace Health & Safety Qualifications
- Current Site Training Transcripts
