We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team at YMCA Whittlesea. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

About the Role

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to participate in inclusive and innovative programs. You will work closely with our team to deliver seasonal programs and camps, ensuring that every participant has a safe and enjoyable experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to individuals with disabilities in a person-centered and empowering manner
  • Assist in the delivery of seasonal programs and camps, including overnight camps and school holiday programs
  • Work collaboratively with our team to ensure the safety and well-being of participants
  • Develop and maintain relationships with participants, their families, and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of programs and services that meet the needs of individuals with disabilities
Requirements
  • Legal right to live and work in Australia
  • Current Employee Working with Children Check (VIC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain prior to starting with us)
  • International Police check if you have lived outside Australia in the last 5 years
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Qualifications including Cert III or IV in Community Services or equivalent are well regarded and attract a higher pay grade
