About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Regulatory Affairs Specialist to join our Environmental Health and Regulatory Services team.

In this role, you will investigate and address complaints using risk-based principles, involving matters of high significance related to environmental harm, public health and safety, and legislative non-compliance.

You will engage with stakeholders to ensure adherence to statutory requirements, conduct inspections, and initiate legal processes as necessary.

This position requires expertise in interpreting and applying legislation, strong analytical skills, and the ability to negotiate outcome-based solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare detailed reports.
  • Represent Council in legal proceedings.
  • Investigate and address complaints using risk-based principles.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health, Building Surveying, Town Planning, Environmental Science, or possess relevant experience as a Compliance Officer.

Demonstrated experience in a compliance role within Local Government and a solid understanding of key legislation are essential.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $91,000 - $100,000 p.a. plus superannuation.

A vehicle arrangement will be made with the successful candidate for this role, including a leaseback vehicle for an annual fee calculated as 20% of the gross purchase price.

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya.
