Job Description

The role of a Data Center Capacity Engineer is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of data center infrastructure. Key responsibilities include accepting and processing requests for hub deployments, escalating complex issues to senior team members as necessary, and actively participating in meetings with internal stakeholders such as operations engineers and sales engineers.

  • Designing process layouts for deployments and resolving issues where possible, or escalating to relevant colleagues as required
  • Working on complex designs with manager or senior engineers within the capacity team
  • Developing key solutions for sales opportunities seeking input from relevant parties
  • Ensuring cooling support through airflow calculations or escalating for CFD modelling as necessary
  • Managing power support through infrastructure checks
  • Escalating HPD deployment where necessary
  • Verifying design fit within data centers and triaging or escalating concerns where adverse impacts may occur
  • Escalating site infrastructure issues to the DA&E team
  • Updating CAD drawings for proposed designs and deployments
  • Resolving deployment issues where physical deployment differs from virtual records
  • Addressing complex DQM issues and creating USID and associated inventory objects
Qualifications, Key Skills and Attributes:
  • Engineering degree in electrical, mechanical, or related field
  • Strong technical mindset and ability to work through complex solutions
  • Understanding of power and cooling in data centers, or from varied industries where skills and experience are transferable
  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to work with diverse stakeholders
  • High attention to detail, CAD experience, and ability to maintain complex information
