Embedded Linux Specialist Role

The Embedded Linux Field Engineer position is a remote opportunity within the APAC region, requiring occasional travel for customer meetings and company events.

Responsibilities Overview

  • Engage customers during presales to gather requirements and explain our technology solutions.
  • Develop tailored proposals for prospective clients by elaborating on solution offerings.
  • Participate in the delivery of select projects related to Embedded Linux technologies.
  • Communicate market requirements to key stakeholders, contributing to the development or refinement of generic solutions.
  • Advise Canonical as a trusted customer advocate.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Fluency in Mandarin and willingness to travel to China regularly.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Extensive experience with Linux systems - Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
  • Expertise in distribution / packaging (deb, rpm, ...).
  • Strong background in embedded Linux systems (Yocto, Buildroot...).
  • Proficiency in at least one of Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust programming languages.
  • Professional written and spoken English in addition to the local language.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to multitask and meet commitments.
  • A personal drive to continuously learn and improve.
