Infrastructure Support Specialist

About the Role
The University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Support Specialist to provide project and facilities support for FEIT's research and teaching environments. As the first point of contact for students, you will assist with bookings, security access, and maintenance, while working closely with project teams to facilitate the transition into new research and learning facilities.
Your Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality support and services for Faculty research and teaching environments, effectively resolving infrastructure and facility service issues.
- Establish and implement protocols to operationalise new research and teaching facilities while managing requirements such as maintenance, security access, and room bookings.
- Assist facility users with queries and facilitate handover duties post-practicals to ensure efficient use of the facilities.
- Support the delivery of small infrastructure projects and maintain user guides for all new environments, ensuring projects are completed on time and meet stakeholder needs.
What We're Looking For
You will possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, enabling you to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. With a customer service and continuous improvement mindset, you will have a demonstrated knowledge of Australian occupational health and safety legislation and regulatory requirements, along with experience managing OHS standards in multidisciplinary facilities.
Requirements
- A relevant degree and/or trade, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and educational training.
- Demonstrated experience in facilities management to support infrastructure development and cyclical maintenance of plant and equipment.
- Proven experience in delivering minor infrastructure projects while engaging multiple contractors directly.
- A current Victorian driver's licence and a licence to perform high-risk work, including DG (Dogging), LF (Forklift truck), CN (Non-slewing mobile crane), and SB (Basic scaffolding).
