Expert Legal Advisor

This pivotal role provides expert legal advice and services on a wide range of matters.

  • Key responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate, effective, and efficient legal advice on corporate, employment, privacy, property, and commercial matters.
  • Review, draft, negotiate, and interpret various legal documents.
  • Advising on statutory compliance, regulatory issues, and legal risk management.
  • Support the General Counsel, Company Secretary, and broader Executive on legal matters.
  • Represent at relevant external jurisdictions as required.
  • Manage contractual disputes and liaise with external lawyers when necessary.
  • Deliver education and training on relevant legal issues to staff.
  • Undertake investigations to ensure timely completion.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Laws and admission as an Australian Lawyer with a current practising certificate.
  • Minimum four years' post-qualification experience, with demonstrated ability to provide legal advice across corporate, commercial, and property law.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships and support organisational growth.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit, community services, disability, or aged care sector will be highly regarded.
