About the Role

We are seeking talented and motivated Commercial Officers to support a range of commercial activities across Defence Digital Group (DDG).

The ICT Commercial and Business Services Branch is responsible for a wide range of commercial activities across an ICT portfolio of over $1 billion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake procurement planning, tendering, and contract management activities ensuring compliance with legislation, procurement policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Support sourcing strategies, complex & strategic procurement, contract management, and assurance activities.
  • Build and sustain productive working relationships across DDG to support the delivery of Defence capability.
  • Understand the Commonwealth Procurement Framework, procedures, and compliance obligations providing guidance to business areas within DDG.

ICTCBS is responsible for leading Group business operations functions and reform activities; this is achieved by designing and implementing the DDG Governance framework and modelling the underlying processes and ways of working of the group.

What We Offer

This role is eligible for an additional remuneration benefit known in Defence as a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP).

This enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the base salary otherwise payable under the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA), for positions in occupational disciplines/classifications that are critical to Defence capability.

Requirements
  • Have experience or an ability to work within legislation framework, established principles, work practices, and procedures in accordance with Defence's mission and business objectives.
  • Have experience and knowledge of research and analysis to support commercial and procurement decision-making.
  • Build and maintain working relationships through effective relationship management, including engaging with stakeholders, managing expectations and concerns.
