Boarding House Care Manager

**Role Overview**
Our organization is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to fill the role of Residential Matron. This position plays a crucial support role to the Housemaster or Housemistress and Tutors in establishing the ethos of the Boarding House.
This is a key position that provides a significant and important contribution to the overall welfare of the pupils in the school. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a sympathetic ear to pupils when needed, managing the housekeeping staff, and supervising cleaning and laundry, repairs, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Pastoral: Support the Housemaster/Housemistress in the smooth running of the Boarding House, be alert to any signs of individual problems, and provide a personal contact with pupils.
- Health: Provide a watching brief on pupil health, maintain working contact with the School Health Centre, follow medication protocols, and transport pupils to medical appointments as necessary.
- Housekeeping: Manage the team of domestic staff, ensure effective working, supervise pupils' clothing and bedding, dispatch clothes for dry cleaning, and maintain standards of tidiness and hygiene.
- Strong interpersonal skills when working with children, colleagues, and parents.
- A self-starter and good team player, able to work independently and within the team of Matrons.
- Highly motivated, hardworking, and passionate about education.
- Organisation, discretion, flexibility, and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage and develop a team of Domestic Assistants.
