We are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our team at Westpac Group.
As an Automation Expert, you will play a key role in enhancing our overall Test automation and DevOps capability. This position is within Consumer banking and focuses on the mortgage's technology of the business. Our Business Banking domain delivers Business Lending technology solutions for the bank's customer via both online and staff-facing channels. The applications delivered are group critical, supporting critical digital and staff-facing applications across the bank.
The purpose of this role is to work closely with Automation/DevOps engineers and development teams to deliver continuous improvements in test automation coverage and DevOps practices. You will be responsible for advocating modern delivery approaches to automation, such as in-sprint and automation-first. Additionally, you will design automation test frameworks for diverse technology stacks using the latest automation tooling.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation scripts across various tools and languages
- Research and implement new technologies and approaches through innovation within our automation, quality engineering, performance, and DevOps communities
- Assist in creating test automation strategies
A successful candidate should have a solid background in object-oriented programming, particularly with Java, and experience with test automation tools like Selenium or Playwright. Excellent communication and documentation skills are crucial, as is the ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum (estimated), depending on experience and qualifications.
