Skilled Jobs Australia is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Edinburgh North, SA.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 5 years of experience in mechanical design and development.

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for:

Design and Development:

  • Designing mechanical components, systems, or products using CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD).
  • Conducting analysis and simulations to ensure designs meet performance criteria, safety regulations, and technical specifications.
  • Developing prototypes and testing them to validate design concepts.

Technical Documentation:

  • Creating detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications using CAD software.
  • Documenting design assumptions, calculations, decisions, and test results for quality compliance purposes and future reference.
  • Preparing technical reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Assisting in the establishment of quality control processes to ensure manufactured products meet design specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Conducting or participating in performance tests, durability tests, and failure analysis to identify potential issues and improve product reliability.
  • Collaborating with manufacturing teams to implement improvements in production processes.

Problem Solving and Troubleshooting:

  • Identifying and resolving technical issues or challenges during product development, testing, or production.
  • Analysing root causes of mechanical failures and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Providing technical support to customers, sales teams, or service technicians.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participating in design reviews, brainstorming sessions, and lessons learned exercises to continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Seeking feedback from stakeholders and incorporating it into future designs or projects.
  • Pursuing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mechanical engineering.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborating effectively with workshop personnel and providing engineering support to manufacturing activities.
  • Providing expert advice and technical support to project managers to ensure excellent technical representation when interfacing with clients.
  • Collaborating proactively with planners and estimators to ensure design robustness and product efficiency.

The salary range for this position is between $80,000 - $100,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
