About the Role:
As a Media Content Manager at Capital Recruit, you will be joining a dynamic team, leading a group of media and public affairs professionals. You will respond to media inquiries and plan for major announcements and activities – a mix of reactive and proactive media activities.
A significant part of this role is to work with stakeholders and form genuine relationships with team members across the organization to support ongoing needs and quick turnaround timeframes.
This position is a mix of both hands-on and leadership tasks, and you must be willing to 'jump on the tools' – this is not an exclusive management position.
For existing permanent EL1's in the APS, a permanent transfer is open for discussion. For existing permanent APS6's, you must have demonstrated acting EL1 experience to be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Field incoming media inquiries and work with key staff to develop appropriate responses, including arranging media interviews.
- Prepare media alerts and media releases as required.
- Provide material to the media as required, including photographs, film, and background information.
- Manage visiting media onsite, including documentary crews.
- Monitor and report on media coverage.

A baseline security clearance is required for this opportunity, and if not already held, you must be prepared and able to undertake this process at the point of offer. The Department is prepared to sponsor and maintain a clearance for the suitable applicant.
