General Practitioner Opportunity

This role is open to a vocationally registered General Practitioner with AHPRA.

As a General Practitioner in this mining town, you will have the chance to work with a family orientated practice that focuses on young families and children. Your workload will be moderate with around 3-4 patients per hour, giving you ample time to provide quality care.

  • Family medicine experience is highly valued in this role.

You will be required to do coal board medicals, but the nurse will assist with most of the tasks. Additionally, you will need to hold the phone for after-hours consultations and occasionally see visiting farmers and mine workers. You must also be able to communicate effectively with ambulance services when needed.

One of the unique aspects of this role is the opportunity to work with a relatively low patient load, allowing for a more manageable workload. You will also have the chance to participate in occupational health initiatives and may be willing to work at our Rockhampton clinic on your days off.

The location of Middlemount offers a peaceful environment with over 1,300 permanent residents. The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8 hours a day, with 14 days on including 3 hours on Saturday and Sunday. This schedule allows for a good balance between work and personal life.
