At Local Peoples, we're seeking a seasoned Lead Service Designer to join our team and make a positive impact on public sector services through design. This exciting opportunity will challenge you to support our clients in achieving their goals while working as an embedded team member in both contract and ongoing roles.

We're looking for someone with extensive human-centered design experience, skilled in design thinking, systems thinking, and agile methodologies. Your expertise should include creating service blueprints, system maps, customer journeys, and executing product or service delivery.

You'll be responsible for conducting design research, working closely with UX Researchers, and utilizing quantitative and qualitative techniques to understand consumer expectations and needs. Effective communication of your findings is crucial, using persuasive techniques to focus on message delivery.

We anticipate that you'll identify risks promptly, help others recognize them, and facilitate workshop sessions to encourage stakeholders to work together. Your understanding of digital transformation and omnichannel strategies is essential, along with expertise in customer research, problem-solving, journey mapping, ideation, prototyping, and testing solutions.

A strong understanding of accessibility requirements, including WCAG guidelines and public sector design guidelines, is necessary. You'll also be required to develop and deliver industry-grade design artefacts and contribute to report writing for applied research and publication purposes.

We value collaboration and interaction with clients, ensuring that you can manage multiple projects effectively with excellent time management skills. Familiarity with current trends in digital and interaction design is important, as well as proficiency in using design tools like Figma, Sketch, InVision, Adobe XD, CC, and others.

This role requires holding a current ASGVA Baseline clearance or being able to obtain one. As a condition of employment, you must be an Australian Citizen.
