About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Worker to join our team at Mission Australia. As a Peer Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals living with mental illness, helping them build connections and reduce social isolation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain trusting relationships with clients, providing emotional support and guidance.
  • Develop and implement tailored approaches to support clients' unique needs and interests.
  • Collaborate with clients to identify and access meaningful activities and networks.
  • Co-facilitate peer-based groups and ensure documentation is completed in accordance with Mission Australia protocols.
Requirements
  • Personal lived experience of mental ill health and recovery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to actively listen and empathize with clients.
  • Qualification in Mental Health or willingness to work towards obtaining Cert IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
  • Current NSW driver's licence.
