We are seeking a highly skilled EHV Cable Project Engineer to join our team at SSEN Transmission. As a key member of our Offshore Project Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in driving technical excellence and quality of installation for our HVDC cable projects.
Our EHV Cable Project Engineers work closely with various teams, including environmental and land consenting, geotechnical, civil, and offshore installation engineers, to support project Front End Engineering Design (FEED) activities such as options assessment, cable route development, landfall selection, and risk assessment.
You will be responsible for promoting the safety-in-design ethos and discharging CDM duties on behalf of SSE Transmission, ensuring risk reduction to the point of elimination or as low as is reasonably practicable.
Additionally, you will review and accept Contractor engineering and design deliverables for compliance with Employer's requirements, legislation, and safe practice, and supervise installation and commissioning works for compliance with Employer's requirements and legislation.
As a Senior EHV Cable Engineer, you will also inform the HVDC cable system requirements for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) Contracts and support the tender review process as part of the technical team.
Our ideal candidate will have a minimum BEng/BSc qualification level in a relevant engineering discipline, technical knowledge and experience in holding key technical positions during development and delivery of HVDC or HVAC transmission cable projects, and a competent awareness and working knowledge of relevant industry standards, specifications, and recommendations.
