We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Data Systems Analyst. In this role, you will play a key part in the development and implementation of data systems and processes that enable us to meet our environmental and sustainability reporting obligations.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact on the environment. As an Environmental Data Systems Analyst, you will work closely with our Environment team and other internal stakeholders to improve the accuracy, efficiency, and transparency of environmental data capture and reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Environment Manager to lead the structuring and automation of energy, emissions, waste, and compliance data flows across the business.
- Administer and maintain our environmental data platform, including integration with other key systems.
- Build and maintain reports and dashboards that track performance against environmental KPIs.
- Support compliance with regulatory requirements and assist with the preparation of disclosures.
- Develop and document data models, workflows, and governance practices that support a verifiable and auditable basis of preparation.
- Identify process gaps and opportunities for automation using tools such as Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Python, SQL, and AI/ML where appropriate.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a data analytics, performance reporting, or similar role.
- Experience working in a complex, compliance-driven business (e.g., infrastructure, construction, energy, or utilities) is desirable but not essential.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, including data extraction, validation, transformation, and reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering Power BI dashboards, with familiarity in data modelling and data quality principles.
- Experience or exposure to environmental, safety, or sustainability reporting is highly desirable, but not essential.
- Familiarity with financial and accounting concepts is desirable, particularly as they relate to environmental transaction data sets such as fuel usage, energy billing, procurement records, and cost-centre reporting.
- Proficiency in Excel, SQL, Power Query, or similar tools. Experience with AI/ML or automation tools would be an advantage.
- Formal qualifications (e.g., Certificate IV or higher) in data analytics, engineering, science, asset management, or a related field are desirable.
