Cape York Land Council is a leading organization in the pursuit of Aboriginal land rights and native title recognition. As a key player in the region, we are seeking an experienced professional to lead our native title anthropological work.

About the Role:

The Manager Native Title Anthropology and Research will be responsible for managing the Council's native title anthropological work, including pre-determination, post-determination, and future acts practice. This role requires a strong understanding of anthropology and native title law, as well as excellent leadership and management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the native title anthropological work of the Council, ensuring that all projects are completed to a high standard and within deadlines.
  • Research, prepare, and author expert anthropological reports, providing recommendations to the Council's leadership.
  • Effectively supervise staff and consultants, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate degree in Anthropology or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably in a similar field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
