Job Overview:

Senior financial specialists play a crucial role in supporting major infrastructure projects, ensuring the accuracy of project accounts and providing timely financial information to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply a robust project cost coding structure for all incurred costs;
  • Manage accruals and prepare journals for project adjustments and accruals;
  • Deliver detailed, accurate forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow reporting to the project team and corporate finance team;
  • Ensure comprehensive financial reporting across the project delivery team;
  • Manage Project Bank Accounts according to MRPV requirements;
  • Provide financial support to project management teams;
  • Meet month-end deadlines;
  • Review and improve current processes for management accounts preparation to enhance business efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate qualifications in accounting or a related field;
  • At least 6 years of postgraduate experience;
  • CPA/CA qualification is highly regarded;
  • Previous experience in the construction industry is preferred;
  • Experience with Victorian government infrastructure projects is advantageous.

Project Context:

The Eastern Freeway Upgrades is a significant road infrastructure project delivered under an Alliance Contract with Major Roads Projects Victoria (MRPV) as the Project Owner. The project aims to provide a safer and more efficient freeway connection for thousands of vehicles daily.
