We are seeking a highly skilled Steel Erector to join our team. As a key member, you will be responsible for installing structural steel components on construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a range of construction equipment, including cranes, EWP's, scissor lifts, forklifts, and tele-handlers;
- Read specifications or drawings to determine material requirements;
- Connect columns, beams, and cold roll items using bolts, following drawings and instructions from supervisors;
- Lift and position steel beams, girders, or columns into place using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators;
- Dismantle structures or equipment as needed;
- Perform pre-operational inspections and communicate maintenance needs with supervisors;
- Apply dogging, rigging, and crane operation knowledge to ensure safe lifting and movement of loads;
- Undertake regular maintenance of crane and rigging equipment;
- Perform other reasonable duties as directed by your manager or supervisor.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Previous experience in structural steel erection;
- A basic rigging ticket as a minimum;
- An EWP ticket;
- A working at heights ticket;
- A white card;
- A driver's license with a reliable vehicle;
- The ability to work 5.5 days a week as required;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills;
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities;
- A willingness to adhere to OH&S practices and follow safety procedures.
