Join our team as a Casual Operator at Illawarra Mercury to contribute to the export of log and associated wood products within Australia.

About The Position Pentarch Logistics division provides portside storage, quality control, measurement and logistics solutions. We are seeking Plant Operators to join our team based in Eden on a Casual basis. You will be involved with a range of duties including the receival and processing of whole log products. Shift times start from 6:00am daily at our site based at Edrom Road. Reporting to the Production Manager, some of your key responsibilities will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate fixed plant equipment efficiently.
  • Perform daily machinery and equipment pre-start inspections to ensure optimal performance.
  • Assist and support in maintaining machinery and equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain and undertake site/workplace cleaning as required for a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all company safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries and incidents.
  • Manage inventory and perform data entry tasks accurately.
About You / Qualifications
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing or manual handling is highly desirable but not essential.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn are essential for success in this role.
  • Be reliable, punctual, and focused on delivering high-quality work results.
  • Have demonstrated experience of successfully working in a team environment.
  • Be physically fit and able to manually handle various sized timber sections safely.
