Grounds Person Lead Sportsfields

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a passionate and experienced grounds team in delivering high-quality maintenance, preparation, and renovation of turf surfaces at our premier elite training and playing facility in Western Sydney.

  • Assist the Senior Team Leader in achieving year-round excellence across all sporting fields, common reserves, and landscaping areas.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies for chemical application, turf management, and sports field preparation.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to Council policies and procedures.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Grounds Person Lead who can provide leadership and direction to our grounds team. The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management, or a related area, and a current Class C driver's license. Additionally, they will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

About the Opportunity

This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary package, including a 38-hour working week, Rostered Day Off (RDO) every fortnight, and employee benefits such as leave entitlements, superannuation, Fitness Passport, and gym membership discounts.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Horticulture (Turf), Sports Turf Management, or a related area.
  • Current Class C driver's license.
  • Experience and knowledge of high-standard sporting field preparation and other areas, including common reserves and landscaping.
  • Chemical Application Accreditation AQF3 or equivalent.
