About the Role

Parks Australia is seeking a highly skilled Taxonomic Expert to join the Australian Biological Resources Study (ABRS) team. As a scientific officer, you will play a crucial role in taxonomy and systematics for marine invertebrates, non-flowering plants, or fungi.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare, edit, and curate data for authoritative nomenclature and taxonomy databases.
  2. Provide advice and expertise on taxonomic matters to DCCEEW and other stakeholders.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with collaborators and stakeholders.
  4. Contribute to administrative tasks, including Departmental correspondence and reporting.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in handling and interpreting taxonomic data.
  • Excellent understanding of the Code of Nomenclature for your field of taxonomic expertise.
