Insurance Risk Manager Job Description

This role involves managing the underwriting of insurance risks for a liability insurance brand.

The successful candidate will be responsible for determining the acceptability and pricing of moderate to complex insurance risks, as well as agreeing on coverage within business strategy and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage the underwriting of insurance risks in line with underwriting guidelines and standards.
  • Apply underwriting strategy with respect to target markets and accounts in area of responsibility.
  • Support the management of the liability portfolio across underwriting processing and credit management, documentation issuance and general servicing and management of liability risks.
  • Liaise with account management and business development teams.
  • Support team members, provide guidance where necessary and take responsibility for personal development.
Requirements and Skills
  • Experience in liability underwriting.
  • Competent knowledge of the renewals process.
  • Previous experience of working with brokers and partners.
  • A strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
