Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced instrumentation engineer to provide control systems and engineering support to our projects. The role will involve working on the design and specification of general instrumentation, valves, and control systems.

The project will take place across multiple open-pit mining operations, processing plants, and supporting infrastructure. Our team will work closely with clients to deliver high-quality results.

The position will be based in Brisbane initially before relocating to Helsinki, Finland for a 12-month assignment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and specify instrumentation for material handling and process plant projects.
  • Prepare scope of services, study reports, and equipment specifications for plant control systems, telecommunications, and instrumentation packages.
  • Develop proposal preparation and cost estimates.
  • Specify and select instrumentation according to equipment datasheets.
  • Design and modify panel layouts, schematic wiring, and termination diagrams for industrial control systems.
  • Develop changeover plans for brownfield control system upgrades.
  • Design and layout control rooms and locate control cabinets within the plant.
  • Participate in design and hazard reviews.
  • Review supplier documentation to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Mentor junior instrumentation and control system engineers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with functional safety systems and TUV certification is highly regarded.
