Mergent Recruitment Advisory is seeking a skilled Mechanical Fitter to join their team in South Australia. As a Mechanical Fitter with Mergent, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance, fabrication, and repair of various heavy industrial equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting maintenance, repairs, and installations of conveyor systems, pumps, and furnaces.
  • Overhauling and maintaining pumps to ensure efficiency and troubleshooting issues with plant equipment.
  • Fabrication and welding tasks as needed for equipment modifications and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Participating in shutdowns and planned maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter in heavy industrial settings, with proficiency in working with conveyors, pumps, fabrication, maintenance, shutdowns, furnaces, and plant equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations, with the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance, with a trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (or equivalent).
  • Confined Spaces ticket and High Risk Work Licence (WP).

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel remotely within South Australia and nationally as required.
