Job Summary:

The Paralegal will provide critical support to the Legal department by assisting with legal research, document preparation, and case coordination. This role requires a strong understanding of legal principles and procedures, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in legal research and prepare reports for the University Attorney
  • Draft, review, and edit legal documents, including contracts and agreements
  • Manage and maintain legal files, ensuring proper documentation and archiving
  • Coordinate and prepare for litigation cases, depositions, and court hearings
  • Handle administrative tasks, such as scheduling and drafting correspondences
  • Support compliance initiatives by monitoring university practices and ensuring adherence to applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist in special legal projects and collaborate with other departments on legal-related matters

Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies or Bachelor's degree in a related field with a Paralegal Certificate
  • Minimum 2–5 years of paralegal or legal assistant experience, preferably in higher education or corporate settings

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies
  • Paralegal certificate
