Job Description:

The Warehousing and Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing all warehouse and logistics operations to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective activities.

This role plays a key part in driving continuous improvement across the function, managing a team of warehousing and logistics personnel, and ensuring their performance, output, and alignment with operational goals.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a high-performing warehousing and logistics team
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant working environment
  • Develop and enforce clear policies, procedures, and documented practices
  • Maintain team capability through training, development, and succession planning
  • Oversee all warehousing functions including receipt, storage, distribution, and equipment maintenance
  • Ensure goods are processed, inspected, and recorded accurately and in a timely manner
  • Deliver excellent customer service through timely order fulfilment and clear communication
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives while managing operational risks

Requirements:

  • 7+ years relevant Supply Chain, Warehousing and logistics experience within a manufacturing or Defence organisation
  • Strong understanding and working experience in a computerised ERP environment
  • Strong leader and coach, with excellent communication, interpersonal and people management skills
