As a specialist practitioner in family violence, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of victims/survivors and their children. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by family violence.
About The RoleThe Specialist Family Violence Practitioner will work within the Orange Door (Ballarat Region) as part of Berry Street's Western Specialist Family Violence Service. This service provides specialist support to victims of family violence, including risk assessment, safety planning, and connection to relevant services.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive risk assessments to identify and mitigate risks to victim/survivors and their children.
- Develop and implement safety plans to ensure the safety and well-being of victim/survivors and their children.
- Provide specialist support and guidance to victim/survivors and their families, including access to justice and legal support.
- Work collaboratively with other services and agencies to ensure a coordinated response to family violence.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience working with victim/survivors and their children who have experienced family violence.
- A high level of understanding of the gendered nature of family violence.
- Experience in undertaking comprehensive risk assessments (CRAF or TRAM).
