Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Underwriting Specialist to join our team in the Underwriting space. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take their career to the next level and work with a leading insurance agency.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Underwrite a portfolio of business across various sectors, including property, business interruption, liability, theft, glass, machinery breakdown, electronic equipment, etc.
  2. Action underwriting referrals within service standards and underwriting guidelines.
  3. Process and review renewals, new business, endorsements, and other required processing.
  4. Collaborate with other departments to implement agreed strategies or updates/processes.
  5. Develop relationships with brokers and participate in market-facing activities with the distribution team.

Requirements

  • At least 1-year commercial underwriting experience, preferably with intermediated channels.
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of major risks within the property and liability markets.
  • Strong experience and understanding of the insurance broker market.
