Job Title: Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

Australia's energy sector is evolving, and this role plays a vital part in ensuring the security of our energy systems.

About the Position

This senior cybersecurity specialist will work collaboratively to design, develop, and deliver secure future energy and market systems under various energy sector initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with teams to assist in the development, delivery, and sustainment of a comprehensive cyber assessment and testing capability.
  • Use in-depth technical analysis to select appropriate testing approaches and identify vulnerabilities.
  • Develop test scripts, materials, and packs, and test new and existing networks, systems, or applications to identify vulnerabilities.
  • Provide advice on penetration testing techniques.
  • Work with project teams, architects, and application owners to develop penetration test scopes that include relevant threat scenarios.
  • Plan and drive penetration testing within defined business activities.
  • Record and analyze actions and results, and modify tests if necessary.
  • Identify needs and implement new approaches for penetration testing.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a technical cybersecurity function, preferably with critical infrastructure in the Energy Sector.
  • Detailed understanding of contemporary adversary tradecraft, effective controls, and models for adversary emulation.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully working with external vendors to perform penetration testing.
  • Problem-solving skills with analytical thinking to diverse problems.
  • Technical knowledge of a broad range of IT and security technologies.
  • The position has a national focus and may require interstate travel and flexible working hours.
  • Must be an Australian citizen with the ability to attain and maintain an appropriate level of national security clearance.
  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science or technology-related field, or equivalent work or education-related experience. Relevant industry certifications desirable.
