Role Responsibilities
The FX Supervisor plays a crucial role in guiding a team of FX Artists, overseeing the daily production requirements. This position involves both the technical and artistic supervision of visual effects production, ensuring that we deliver top-notch photorealistic simulations. Collaboration with Producers, VFX Supervisors, Heads of FX, and other departmental leaders is essential.
Essential Qualifications
- A minimum of 8 years of experience as an FX Technical Director, with prior experience in a supervisory role.
- Deep expertise in Houdini.
- Proven track record in creating effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions, along with experience in particle and voxel-based rendering.
- Strong attention to detail, a good sense of timing, and a comprehensive understanding of physical simulation techniques in computer graphics.
- Familiarity with pipeline challenges and effective problem-solving skills.
- Experience in project management, adept at balancing quality with time constraints.
- Extensive feature film experience in live-action visual effects.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring FX Artists.
- Excellent artistic and technical abilities.
- Capability to provide both artistic and technical guidance to the Effects Team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Python, HScript, or Mel.
- Experience in live-action FX production is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Maya or equivalent 3D software.
