About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Planner and Purchasing Officer to join our supportive team at our Sunshine Vinidex manufacturing operation.

The successful candidate will come from a similar role and enjoy working in a fast-paced and innovative manufacturing environment, with experience in managing spare parts inventory and purchasing requirements for maintenance and production.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  1. Planning and coordinating all preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities, including preparation of JSEA and issuing High Risk Work Permits to ensure safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
  2. Supervising and overseeing the work of the maintenance team to ensure minimal interruptions to manufacturing operations.
  3. Utilizing MEX to plan preventative maintenance works, documenting all completed maintenance activities, and maintaining critical spare registers and stock levels.
  4. Optimizing the preventative maintenance program to improve equipment reliability and production OEE performance.
  5. Managing inventory of critical spare parts and maintenance/production consumables, ensuring correct allocation of purchase orders and invoicing to the appropriate accounts.
  6. Facilitating root cause analysis for major breakdowns to improve equipment availability and efficiency.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an Engineering degree (preferably mechanical or electrical) or trade qualification with 2-3 years' experience working in a similar role within a Manufacturing, FMCG or Mining environment.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Hands-on and flexible, willing to be on call when needed to coordinate and organize contractors and assist the maintenance team when needed.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and supervising maintenance activities, including annual shutdowns and preventative maintenance.
  • Proficient in using systems, including CMMS (MEX or equivalent), ERP (SAP advantageous).
  • Experience raising purchase orders, invoice management, and running spare parts inventory.
  • Exceptional time management and coordination skills, able to prioritize and be agile with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive outlook, strong relationship-building skills, results-driven, and enjoys troubleshooting to find the best solution.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance management (extrusion process advantageous).
  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
