**About the Role**

The Government of South Australia is seeking a dedicated professional to fill the position of Visiting Advocate (TCV). This role is accountable to the Principal Advocate and requires contributing to meeting the statutory functions of the TCV and her other mandates.

The successful candidate will conduct visits and inspections of the Centre and other relevant facilities as part of the TCV program, communicating with children and young people residing in the Centre, and acting as their advocate to resolve issues relating to their care, treatment, and control.

The Visiting Advocate will also undertake individual advocacy for dual-involved children and young people in relation to their care, rights, and best interests in their residential care setting and Centre setting, in collaboration with Advocates from other mandates.

To be successful in this role, you will need to maintain accurate and up-to-date case notes and records, contribute to reporting and monitoring requirements of the TCV, and work with other staff on projects and policy work that address systemic issues.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child protection principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. If you are passionate about advocating for the rights and best interests of children and young people, we encourage you to apply.
