Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to provide customer-focused finance, purchasing, and administrative support. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to implement new systems and processes, ensuring the safe and efficient conduct of laboratory activities.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Complete procurement tasks in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Negotiate and contract for necessary inventory, goods, and supplies.
  • Request quotes and evaluate results with requestors to select the best supplier.
  • Create purchase orders and order inventory from suppliers to ensure adequate levels are maintained as requested by staff.
  • Evaluate inventory received to ensure compliance with relevant import rules and permits.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff regarding ordering and delivery times.
  • Assist in managing relationships with suppliers, including updating items, pricing, and answering queries.
  • Work closely with the Accounts Assistant to reconcile and investigate goods received and not invoiced.
