Specialist Clinical Pathology Training Opportunity

This is a unique chance for motivated veterinarians to undertake an intensive training program leading to specialist certification in clinical pathology.

  • The traineeships will commence in mid-August and be based in either Australia, New Zealand or Tokyo.
  • Training under the alternate pathway of ACVP accreditation is undertaken over four years and involves a combination of case directed learning, supported study and laboratory duties.
  • You will have access to many pathologists across Japan, Australia & New Zealand and globally to provide depth and breadth of knowledge and extensive mentor support locally and remotely.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Laboratory work, haematology film analysis and scientific support.
  • Interpretations of biochemistry, serology, urinalysis, endocrinology and customer service.
  • Training in cytology, with lesser responsibilities in histopathology and gross tissue evaluation.
  • Data analysis such as reporting of notifiable diseases and administrative support.

You will be expected to attend and present at conferences and participate actively in the pathology community. The preparation of research or case publications will be encouraged.
