
Senior Workforce Planning Specialist

The role of Manager Workforce Planning is a key position within the organization. It reports directly to the Executive Manager, Business Services. The position is responsible for planning and coordinating rostering for the region and will work closely with other senior managers to align strategies and systems with business requirements.
This role oversees the resource readiness function and is responsible for planning and coordination of operational resources. The Manager Workforce Planning will develop and implement best practice strategies to support performance targets in relation to workforce planning and management.
Responsibilities include leading and managing the Resources Stream, including the Workforce Planning Unit, to ensure efficient and effective workforce planning and rostering services are delivered to the region.
- Lead and manage the resource readiness functions to ensure delivery of efficient and effective operational resources, including fleet and equipment.
- Develop and implement operationally focused continuous business improvement practices to enhance workforce planning and resource readiness coordination for regional operations.
- Communicate and negotiate with operational employees and direct officers to undertake duties at specific locations in line with emerging operational requirements.
- Manage regional timesheet processes including collation, authorisation, auditing and associated quality assurance activities in accordance with guidelines.
- Provide authoritative advice to managers in relation to rostering of operational staff.
- Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of regional strategic and operational plans by providing high level workforce planning and management advice.

Additional Information:
This role contributes to achieving QAS business objectives and key performance indicators determined by the Commissioner. It requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as expertise in workforce planning and management.
