Job Title: Supervisor

BESIX Watpac is seeking a Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day organization of on-site construction staff, including subcontractors and their various disciplines.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Driving company safety policies, practices, and procedures in compliance with OH&S legislative requirements to provide a safe workplace at all times.
  • Organizing on a daily and weekly timeframe the sequencing of on-site activities, ensuring subcontractors have access to their work face for materials and equipment, including the coordination of materials, equipment, personnel, and materials handling plant.
  • Assisting the Site Manager and reporting on a daily basis on site activities that could result in points of delay, safety problems, industrial unrest, and taking necessary action to avert problems.
  • In consultation with the Project Manager, allocating necessary site staff and resources and confirming that all resources for the project will be available when required.
  • Reviewing the construction program with the Site Manager, resequencing activities as necessary to achieve the programmed completion date.
  • Ensuring the implementation and policing of the Company's policies and practices on safety, industrial relations, and quality assurance at the work face.
  • Ensuring quality and compliance with standards and contract documents.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • A degree or diploma in building or construction, or other recognized tertiary or trade qualification in a construction-related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously using initiative, sound reasoning, listening, and decision-making skills.
  • A proven high level of professionalism, maturity, and candour in daily work ethic.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
